CONTIE, Circuit Judge. The Secretary of Health and Human Services (Secretary) appeals from a district court judgment awarding attorneys fees pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 406(b)(1) to the attorney who successfully represented a claimant seeking retroactive Title II disability benefits and Title XVI Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. The Secretary claims that the district court erred in computing the amount of attorneys fees by failing to apply the SSI windfall offset provided by 42 U.S.C. § 1320a-6. For the reasons that follow, we reverse the judgment of the district court.
